Stop by the No. 1 British Flying Training School Museum between 10 am and 1 pm on Saturday, June 14 for the first in a series of Stearman Sightings. These events are up close and personal viewings, weather permitting, of the museum’s World War II aircraft, Old 42, flown by British cadets who learned to fly in Terrell between 1943 and 1944. The open cockpit, two-seater, Stearman biplane is being maintained in flying condition by the museum. “The Stearman will play a vital role in our programming in the coming years,” explained Executive Director Patrick Hotard. “We look forward to the public experiencing this piece of World War II and British Flying Training School history at our facility here in Terrell.” Staff and volunteers will be available to answer questions. Visit the museum’s Facebook page for ongoing programs and future events. Call 972-551-1122 for additional information or visit www.bftsmuseum.org.
